A Brief Overview
The Club Permit Scheme (also known as the CPS) is a program implemented by the relevant transport authority in various regions to enable classic, vintage, and historic vehicles to be driven on public roads with certain benefits and restrictions.
The Club Permit Scheme provides an affordable and regulated way for enthusiasts to enjoy driving their qualifying vehicles while maintaining their historical and unique value. It allows members of recognised vehicle enthusiast clubs to obtain a limited registration permit for their eligible vehicles.

Why Choose Us
To participate in the Club Permit Scheme, certain criteria must be met, including but not limited to:
Membership
Vehicle owners must be members of a recognised vehicle enthusiast club or association.
Vehicle Age
The vehicle must meet the age requirements set by the transport authority (e.g., over 25 years old)
Usage Limitations
There may be restrictions on the number of days the vehicle can be used on public roads.
HCC Victoria is associated with Vic-Roads to allow our members to apply for the club permit scheme.
When you become a member we have
- No compulsory meetings
- No compulsory events
Your vehicle will only be accepted on our registry once we have checked and approved the roadworthy certificate and the vehicle meets the criteria outlined on the VicRoads website
Permit Conditions
Once approved for the Club Permit Scheme, vehicle owners receive a permit subject to certain conditions, such as:
Logbook System:
Owners must maintain a logbook, accurately recording each journey made with the vehicle.
Display of Permit
The vehicle must display the distinctive Club Permit Scheme identification, including special number plates or labels.
Roadworthiness
The vehicle should be in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times.
Modifications
Any modifications made to the vehicle should comply with relevant regulations and be recorded in the logbook.

Adhere to Conditions
Follow all permit conditions and comply with road rules and regulations.
Vehicle Maintenance
Regularly maintain their vehicles to ensure they remain safe and roadworthy.
Represent the Hobby
Behave responsibly, respect other road users, and act as ambassadors for the enthusiast community.
